Two Darksiders: Genesis Collector’s Editions Are Up for Preorder and One Costs a Fortune

The game itself still lacks a firm 2019 launch date, but Darksiders faithful can preorder two collector’s editions for the Diablo-like Darksiders: Genesis. One of the special editions is pretty standard: $120 price tag, nice looking statue, steelbook, stickers, etc. However, the second offering is behemoth not only in size, but also in cost. The Nephilim Edition will run consumers $379.99. It appears the added cost comes courtesy of one major addition to the regular Collector’s Edition–Limited Edition Darksiders: The Forbidden Land board game!

The premium packaging for the Darksiders: Genesis Collector’s Edition will feature the game, an art book, physical copy of the original soundtrack, a Strife figurine that stands approximately 9 inches tall, steelbook case, and a set of stickers. Genesis‘ far more costly Nephilim Edition, of which only 5,000 will be produced worldwide, is set to include everything in the Collector’s Edition in addition to the Darksiders: The Forbidden Land board game.

Contents of the Darksiders: The Forbidden Land board game include all of the following:

  • 61 Miniatures
  • 124 Tokens
  • 36 Multi-Hex Modular Boards
  • 423 Cards
  • 4 Player Boards
  • Custom Dice
  • Rulebook
  • Campaign Book

Preorders for both editions are currently live on Amazon. Hopefully, this means THQ Nordic and developer Airship Syndicate feel reasonably confident about the release that’s yet to be made public. It’s possible such news will surface in the coming weeks, as the publisher has massive plans for gamescom 2019 in late August.

During the upcoming show in Cologne, Germany, THQ Nordic will feature the following games on the show floor: Darksiders: Genesis, Biomutant, Desperados III, Destroy All Humans, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, and a still unannounced title. Additionally, the company intends to reveal three more games behind-closed-doors.

Gamescom 2019 will begin on August 20th and conclude days later on August 24th.
