As is usually the case, 2K Sports will release a demo for the latest NBA 2K title a few weeks ahead of the game’s launch. Those interested in getting a taste of the experience before the game’s release can grab a free demo on August 21st. This NBA 2K20 trial will only be available on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Sorry, PC players.
Not only will the demo allow players to hit the courts, the MyCAREER feature will also be open to explore. In addition, NBA 2k20’s demo is set to include the new MyPLAYER Builder. With this new feature, players can style a character in whichever way they prefer and configure the character’s overall playstyle. Those who participate in the trial this August can carry their created player to the main game when it launches two weeks later.
Here’s to hoping this new iteration in the long-running annual sports franchise won’t succumb to the woes that put fans at unease with NBA 2K19. Most notably, the title was inundated with microtransactions, an issue also present in the previous year’s release, NBA 2K18.
Earlier this month, 2K Games unveiled the cover athlete for NBA 2K20. Anthony Davis, a six-time All-Star who will soon take his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers, will grace the franchise’s cover this year. Meanwhile, Miami Heat legend Dwayne Wade will deservedly appear on the cover of NBA 2K20’s Legend Edition.
Two editions of the game will be available to purchase, both of which are currently up for preorder. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes packed with the following in-game rewards:

- 10 MyCAREER Skill Boosts
