Following yesterday’s showcase, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Eric Lempel took to the PlayStation Blog to discuss PlayStation’s brand new global advertisement. Titled “Play Has No Limits,” PlayStation’s global slogan, the spot pays homage to some of Sony’s beloved first-party hits and depicts a city referred to as “Playtopia.”

“Welcome to a city where play is elevated to extraordinary new heights,” reads a description. “Where every move is crucial. And the game means everything. This is Playtopia.”
Lempel thanked fans for their ongoing support, and said that yesterday’s showcase is proof that Sony is “devoted to this art form” because its “power to move us is singular.” He teased that Sony’s just getting started, and that the PlayStation brand will continue to push limits – a vision depicted in the new global brand spot.
“We believe it’s powerful to challenge expectations and present bold new possibilities,” Lempel continued. “This new spot takes the viewer on a reimagined journey through one of history’s oldest and most revered games. In a fantastical city as the backdrop, play is governed by rules and limitations — and we see what happens when one player defies conventions and stands triumphant, proving that play has no limits.”
Yesterday’s showcase garnered positive reviews following the appearance of God of War Ragnarok and Forspoken, and the announcement of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.
