The Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season Six Battle Pass has been expanded to include 24 free tiers of unlocks for Vanguard, ahead of the new game’s launch on November 5th. This includes four new weapon blueprints across two new Vanguard weapons, immediately usable in Warzone. What’s more, they can also be leveled up prior to Vanguard’s release by using them in Warzone. Note, however, that while you can unlock them by ranking up the Battle Pass in Black Ops Cold War, the weapons aren’t usable in the Treyarch title. Players will also earn XP Tokens and profile cosmetics for use in Vanguard.
The Vanguard tier unlocks are a layered system on top of the existing Battle Pass, meaning if you’ve already passed a tier that now has Vanguard content, it’s automatically unlocked. The 24 tiers are scattered evenly across the Season Six Battle Pass’ 100 tiers, starting right at tier 1 with a Vanguard Double Weapon XP Token. These are also entirely free tiers, so you don’t even need to purchase the Season Six Battle Pass to earn this content for yourself. Just play Black Ops Cold War and Warzone until they unlock.
The two weapons featured across the four Blueprints are the “all-around German-manufactured Assault Rifle and the U.S. standard service Marksman Rifle known as the M1 Garand.” Players will unlock the “Bonerattler” and “Warning Track” Assault Rifle Blueprints at Tiers 24 and 64, respectively, and the M1 Garand’s “White Obsidian” and “Heirloom” Blueprints will come from Tiers 34 and 72, respectively. Players will immediately notice a difference in how many attachment slots these weapons have, consistent with the new Gunsmith system in Vanguard—one even goes up to 10. However, full customization won’t be available for these two weapons until Vanguard launches. Right now, you’ll have to make do with the Blueprint loadouts. However, using the Blueprints in Warzone will still level the weapons up and give you a head start ahead of Vanguard.
In addition to the four Vanguard weapon Blueprints, there are 20 additional tiers of content to earn. These include six Double XP Tokens—2x standard, 2x weapon, and 2x of the new “Operator XP” tokens to gain progression on specific Vanguard Operators. There are also two Emblems, three Calling Cards, three sprays, three weapon charms, two weapon stickers, and the final “Clocked In” watch wrist accessory unlocked at Tier 98. All of this content is usable in Warzone now, and will unlock for use in Vanguard at its launch on November 5th.
This is just the start of Vanguard and Warzone crossing over, which will culminate shortly after Vanguard’s launch with the release of Warzone’s entirely new full size Pacific map, replacing Verdansk.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is now less than a month away, releasing on November 5th. Before then, however, players can look forward to The Haunting event in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, launching on October 19 and running through November 2.
