Developer Zen Studios and publisher Saber Interactive have announced Circus Electrique, a unique story-driven role-playing game set in Victorian steampunk London. It’ll release on the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2022.
A team of circus staffers is tasked with saving London when its residents “mysteriously” turn into “vicious killers” – all while ensuring the shows go on. The antagonists include bobbies gone bad, rogue sailors, and “aggressive posh girls” among others.
Circus Electrique utilizes a “Devotion morale system,” which will affect players’ performance in turn-based battles as well as their circus performances. Playable characters include Strongmen, Fire Blowers, Escape Artists, and Clowns. There will be 14 playable characters in total, and each will have various tactical options during battles.
