Atlus New Game 2022

Atlus is Planning to Announce a New Game in 2022

Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series developer Atlus is planning on announcing a new game sometime in 2022. Notably, Atlus producer Shinjiro Takada states that he hopes the new title will become a “pillar” for the studio.

The information comes from an end-of-year interview with popular Japanese video game outlet Famitsu. The magazine interviewed a total of 127 Japanese video game creators from studios such as Square Enix, Platinum Games, and many others. Several employees of Atlus also appeared, such as Shinjiro Takada and Persona series director Katsura Hashino.

Choosing the word “challenge” as his keyword for 2022, Takada stated that he chose the term as the studio is hoping to release a new game in the coming year. Furthermore, Takada hopes that the new title will act as a “pillar” for the company, besides other big-name series like Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. Similarly, Hashino also states that the studio is currently in preparation, though cannot specifically say what they are working on.

The news follows reports from earlier this year that Atlus is working on Persona 6. The company is also currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Persona series. More announcements concerning the franchise are likely to come in the next year.

We’ll keep readers up to date on any new Atlus games in 2022.
