New Uncharted Movie Trailer Is All About the Plane Scene

The Uncharted franchise wouldn’t be complete without planes and trains. At CES 2022, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Nathan Drake actor Tom Holland unveiled a brand new extended trailer for the upcoming Uncharted movie, showcasing a plane fight scene. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t feature Victory “Sully” Sullivan’s mustache but you can see him parachute out of a plane just in time.

Both the Uncharted production crew as well as its cast (well, Holland, mostly) have been reassuring players that they’ve gone the extra mile to ensure that the movie stays true to the video game franchise while offering something fresh for fans and newcomers alike. Reiterating this at CES 2022, Holland said:

We created a film that has a lot of heart, that pays respect to the games, but also gives fans and people that love the games something new and something refreshing. It’s interesting in these big action movies, I often find that the heart and soul of the movie can be lost in the action. But what’s so nice about our movie is you have this very tangible relationship between Nate and Sully, which is really the heart of the movie; it’s about a young orphan looking for his family and in turn finding a family in the most sort of unorthodox way.

In a little over a month, we’ll find out if Uncharted managed to avoid the curse of movie-based games or not. Head to your nearest theater on February 18th.

In other news, Ghost of Tsushima has sold more than eight million copies. It’ll only be a matter of time before it’s out on PC, joining the likes of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, God of War, and Uncharted.
