In a recent report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Activision Blizzard states that it is unaware of any employee strikes or labor activities. Despite Call of Duty Warzone‘s Raven Software going into its third week of strikes, Activision Blizzard does not make any mention of it in its report. Furthermore, the report also states that it does not know of any significant legal proceedings against the company, despite there being two ongoing lawsuits against it.
Activision Blizzard says “there are no pending activities” of strikes
The filing reads:
To the knowledge of the company, there are no pending activities or proceedings of any labor union, trade union, works council or any similar labor organization to organize any employees of the company or any of its Subsidiaries with regard to their employment with the company or any of its subsidiaries.
Back in December, workers at Raven Software staged a walkout after the company laid off a significant portion of the studio’s QA team. Some devs even say that the walkout and poor leadership have led to the now-infamous issues and bugs within the game. The walkout continues into its third week. Prior to that, Activision Blizzard employees also staged a strike earlier in 2021 after reports of sexual harassment and abuse surfaced.
In other news, some industry specialists believe that Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard won’t cause any legal troubles for the company. The acquisition has also caused Sony’s stock to tank over $20 Billion in value.
