The release of Hogwarts Legacy has been a topic of speculation for the past month or so. While some industry insiders predicted that Warner Bros would delay the game into 2023, the company recently squashed these rumors, stating the game would release on schedule in 2022. Now, another industry insider is saying that Warner Bros is, in fact, telling the truth. If correct, Hogwarts Legacy will release sometime in September 2022, with a new trailer releasing as early as next month.
Why Hogwarts Legacy could have a Q3 2022 release date
The initial delay rumors started after industry insider Colin Moriarty stated on a podcast that the game may be delayed to 2023. Those rumors were later debunked, with WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar stating definitively that the game would release in 2022. At this point, however, fans only received a vague release window of Q3 2022, thanks to industry leaker AccountNGT.
Now, AccountNGT has offered more details about Hogwarts Legacy‘s alleged release date. Adding on to their previous leaks, AccountNGT now says that fans should expect the game to release sometime in September 2022. This puts Hogwarts Legacy‘s release date at the very start of Q3.
Furthermore, the leaker also says that the next trailer will release sometime in February or March, possibly during an upcoming PlayStation showcase event. If true, the trailer will expand upon the game’s skills and abilities.

In other news, Scarlet Nexus developers at Bandai Namco have expressed an interest in making a “mature” sequel. The official guide for Horizon Forbidden West also mentions that the game will feature over 40 different machines.
