LEGO Brawls Smashes Its Way Onto PS5 and PS4 This Summer

Red Games has revealed they’re bringing their fighting game LEGO Brawls to PC and consoles, including PS5 and PS4. Previously exclusive to Apple Arcade, the 4v4 multiplayer game will be released on all of its new platforms this summer.

What is LEGO Brawls?

LEGO Brawls is a Super Smash Bros-esque 4v4 brawler where players can create their own minifigure fighters using parts from many different LEGO franchises such as pirates, space and castle, as well as licensed brands like Jurassic World. Those minifigs then do battle on a total of eight multi-level stages based on familiar LEGO themes.

Players can show Emperor Unagami who’s boss in LEGO® NINJAGO® Prime Empire, master aquatic power-ups in LEGO NINJAGO Seabound, and practice Spinjitzu (dressed as a chicken) in LEGO NINJAGO Legacy. They’ll launch their minifigures into action from ship cannons in the Pirate level, and have a showdown in the Wild West. They can fight for control of the space mining outpost in Blacktron, summon ancient power as LEGO® Monkie Kid™, defend their honor in a minotaur suit at the Castle, and pilot a UFO through a chaotic invasion in Alien Conquest.

As they level up, players can earn more minifigs, costumes, weapons, emotes, and power-ups that are built out of bricks. One such power up featured in the trailer above is a giant mech. The aim of the main 4v4 game mode is to control the center of each level until your team’s color meter is full. Party Mode will let players take on opponents on their own or with friends. There’s also a take on Battle Royale where it’s every player for themselves. A global leaderboard will be available for all platforms where players can track their ranking. Cross-play will be available between platforms.

In other news, Gravity Rush Director Keiichiro Toyama has said he would like Sony to port the franchise to PC so it could reach a new audience. Elsewhere, a free Online Multiplayer Weekend will allow all players to try multiplayer modes in their games over the weekend beginning February 12.
