Elden Ring Margit Boss Balanced After Network Test

FromSoftware has acknowledged that Elden Ring‘s Margit boss fight was too difficult in the network test, and it has since been rebalanced. Speaking to GamerBraves, producer Yasuhiro Kitao said that the studio didn’t intend to make boss fights difficult for the sake of it. However, there are optional bosses that will test your patience, should you want to take on an extreme challenge.

How difficult are Elden Ring bosses?

“In terms of bosses that are unessential and optional and hidden, there are some of these that we have deliberately increased the challenge for those players who want to seek out this kind of experience,” Kitao explained. “Hopefully, if you’re that way inclined, you can seek out some really tough challenges hidden away in the world.”

Elden Ring also has hidden areas that FromSoftware hopes people will discover. The developer isn’t as fussed about the map’s size as it is about giving players a reason to explore the game’s world. “There are some hidden areas that you can be transported to in Elden Ring’s world,” Kitao continued. “This won’t work exactly the same way as it did in the case of the Nameless King in Dark Souls 3, you won’t have to perform a gesture for a long time just to get transported somewhere but there will be some nice surprises for the players and some encounters and bosses that are maybe a little bit tricky to reach and we hope you discover each of these.” Checkpoints have also been strategically placed, giving players the ability to tune their builds and characters before taking on a challenging boss.

Elden Ring will release on February 25th for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC.

In other news, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales has become Sony’s third biggest game in the U.S. in terms of dollar sales, and the long-forgotten Midnight Club is reportedly getting a new open-world game.
