Ascent PS5 PS4 Announced

Action-Shooter RPG The Ascent Releases on PS5 and PS4 in March

Following months of rumors and ratings in several different countries, publisher Curve Digital has confirmed their cyberpunk RPG The Ascent is coming to PS5 and PS4 next month. Players can pre-order the game from the PlayStation Store to receive the exclusive RPEG 33 energy-type Rocket Launcher complete with a laser sight in PlayStation blue.

When will The Ascent be released?

The Ascent will be released on PS5 and PS4 on March 24. A self-contained corporate-run metropolis known as “The Ascent Group” arcology is home to creatures from across the galaxy. However, peace and harmony are shattered when The Ascent Group closes down without reason. With crime syndicates and rival corporations looking to seize control, up to four players are tasked with stopping this from happening as the arcology’s residents fight to survive.

The PlayStation version will come with all of the updates and DLC packs that have been released for Steam and Xbox consoles. This includes Photo Mode, Transmogrification, and the brand new New Game+ mode added to Steam today. The mode unlocks after players have completed mission 12 in the base game and introduces tougher enemies who have acquired extra abilities. Their projectiles are quicker and harder to avoid. The good news is player levels can now be increased beyond 30 while weapons can be upgraded beyond Mk.10. Developer Neon Giant’s Creative Director Arcade Berg said:

We’ve been blown away by how amazing the response to The Ascent has been so far on Xbox and PC, so we are thrilled to be bringing the game to a new audience of PlayStation players. We started making The Ascent because we love making games and we want to share what we’ve made with as many gamers as possible in the hope that people enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it.

In other news, Cyberpunk 2077 may be about to add the option for players to transmogrify their gear if code within the game’s files is anything to go by. Elsewhere, EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson has reportedly blamed FIFA for impeding their football games, claiming the franchise would be better off without the constraints of the FIFA license.
