State of Play March 2022 Rumor

PlayStation State of Play Reportedly Due This Week but Could Be Delayed

Sony’s rumored PlayStation State of Play presentation was apparently due to take place this week. However, due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, sources within Sony have claimed several of the developers due to show their games during the show have asked for it to be delayed.

When will there be a PlayStation State of Play?

Four people within Sony, and one outside of the company, have all claimed the rumored PlayStation State of Play show was due to take place this week according to a report from Game Reactor. However, they also said some of the developers who were due to show off their games, including those from PlayStation Studios and third-party studios, would like the show to be delayed so it doesn’t “take the spotlight away from the awful stuff happening right now”. Discussions are now taking place to potentially delay the show by “a week or two”, but the State of Play should still take place before the end of March.

Now that Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 have been released, Sony doesn’t have any upcoming first-party titles with fixed release dates. This gives plenty of opportunity for announcements for fans of titles like God of War Ragnarok to be given something to look forward to. There are also rumors of an impending Project Spartacus announcement, while games like Hogwarts Legacy are expected to show up too. Of course, until Sony officially confirms anything, all of these rumors should be taken with a pinch of salt.

In other news, rumors started spreading that Sony had acquired a renowned Konami franchise and would be looking at reviving it soon. The only problem is the rumor came from a parody account and has not a single shred of truth in there. Elsewhere, Lost Judgment will be getting its first DLC expansion in the form of The Kaito Files later this month.
