PS Plus Extra Premium

PS Plus Premium and Extra Tiers Include God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and More

God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man are among the first- and third-party PlayStation games to be included with the Extra and Premium tiers of the revamped PS Plus. These games will be available to play in their entirety with an active Extra or Premium subscription. It has also been confirmed they are all available to download on day one.

What games are included with PS Plus Premium and Extra?

The following games are included with PS Plus Premium and Extra, as confirmed by Sony:

  • God of War
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Death Stranding
  • Returnal
  • Mortal Kombat 11

PlayStation says details on more games coming to the service will be announced as we approach the global launch of the new PS Plus. Regarding PS Plus’ Extra and Premium library, the blog post read: “We’re working closely with our imaginative developers from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners to include some of the best gaming experiences available with a library that will be regularly refreshed.” We will update readers with the latest games to be part of Extra and Premium tiers as they are announced.

Despite the company saying it currently has no plans to release new exclusives into the service, games like Returnal have only been released in the last year. Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a PS5 launch game, which still sells extremely well for Sony. Including such games could be seen as a smart move from the console maker. God of War Ragnarök is due to release later this year, so including 2018’s God of War in the service makes sense for players yet to play the reboot or ones looking to relive Kratos and Atreus’ adventure. Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales makes sense to catch up on the Insomniac saga with Spider-Man 2 due out in 2023. It could also drum up hype for Wolverine.

In other news, Riot is apparently gearing up for Valorant’s console release. Check out some of the deals included with the PlayStation Store spring sale. Meanwhile, read on the Death of Subscription Renewals on PS3 and Vita consoles due to the recent announcement of the PS Plus revamp.
