Saints Row Reboot Takes Customization to a New Level

As promised, Volition offered a deep dive into Saints Row customization yesterday, giving players a taste of all the options at their disposal. The game certainly takes customization to a new level, offering everything from asymmetrical facial customization to prosthetics, with no gender boundaries whatsoever. Volition previously said that it wanted to be the “kings of customization” with the reboot, and it looks like it’s well on track for that.

Players are encouraged to be their own Boss with the ability to customize their body, face, hair, clothes, and much more. Asymmetrical face customization allows make-up, scars, bruises, tattoos, facial hair, wrinkles – you name it. If you want your friends to appear a certain way, you can change how your Saints recruits appear as well.

When it comes to vehicle customization, players can go beyond aesthetics and choose between upgrades, signature abilities, and even the sound of their engines. Weapons can also be switched up with different colors, patterns, decals, and materials. But that’s not all! Players can even change how their headquarters and city looks. “Through the Criminal Ventures you and your fellow Saints take part in you can modify parts of the city itself, including the Saints HQ – it’s your time to take over Santo Ileso and make it your own; so go build your criminal empire in style,” Volition wrote.

Following a six-month delay, Saints Row reboot is now scheduled to release on August 23, 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC. You can read more about the customization options over on PlayStation Blog and watch the video above for a visual rundown.

In other news, God of War Ragnarok isn’t ready to be shown yet but it’s till coming in 2022, and Sony’s planning to bring in-game advertisements to F2P games.
