An Unannounced Studio Has Partnered With Sony to Make a PS5 Horror Game

Trust internet sleuths to discover things you wouldn’t notice otherwise. ResetEra user Toumari has somehow discovered an unannounced studio called Swizzle Kiss that’s working on a PS5 horror game. The studio, which appears to have around 10-15 developers (including industry veterans) employed, is not only fully funded but also a PlayStation partner.

What we know about the mysterious studio and its PS5 horror game

Swizzle Kiss is led by Alicia Conte, who previously worked on The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe while serving as a director at its development studio Crows Crows Crows. She’s joined by Jessica Curry of Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture fame. Other names attached to the studio include Arshea Bimal (formerly a producer at Funomena), and Tom Schley and William Pugh, both of whom were Conte’s colleagues when she worked on The Stanley Parable.

“We’re creating a premium, single-player PlayStation 5 + PC narrative horror game,” reads a job description for a lead programmer. “We’re fully funded and Sony PlayStation partners.”

Swizzle Kiss doesn’t have much of an internet presence since it’s still unannounced but from what we’ve gathered, it’s headquartered in Berlin, Germany. The studio has expressed a preference for candidates who have shipped games on PlayStation.

Last but not least, Gematsu’s Sal Romano found the image above in a code on the webpage that advertises the aforementioned job but it might not be related to the game. Fans have theorized that the PS5 horror game will be an indie of sorts rather than a full-fledged AAA experience but Sony has partnered with a number of independent studios that are working on AAA games so you never know.

In other news, it looks like some PS1 classics in the new PS Plus will have trophy support, and Assassin’s Creed Origins’ 60 fps PS5 patch might be out next week.
