Version 6.000.002

  • Cross-play support has been restored to PS5.

It’s good news for PS5 players waiting for cross-play to be re-enabled. It’s now back on and working properly. What’s more, as a gesture of thanks for the patience of players, PlayStation users who log in within the next week will receive 350,000 Blodpoints.

For those who missed it yesterday, following reports from PlayStation users having trouble getting into the game, developer Behaviour Interactive temporarily disabled cross-play in order to work on a fix. This was initially restored to PS4, but it has now also been restored to PS5.

Cross-play is not only useful for playing with friends on different systems, but it can also be used to matchmaking more efficiently, as it expands the player pool and makes finding full lobbies that bit easier.

This fix follows a significant content drop in the form of Chapter 24: Roots of Dread. This introduced a new killer, The Dredge, a new survivor, Haddie Kaur, and the new Garden of Joy map.

In addition to the new characters and map, the game’s store will be featuring a number of collections. These include: the Waterfront Massacre Collection, the Malicious Mannequin Collection, the Chrysalis Collection (arriving on June 14), and the Summer Vacation Collection (appearing on July 4).

In other PlayStation news, Microsoft is reportedly planning to compete with the PS Plus game trials with a new program. Kojima wants his horror game leak taken down, leading to a heated debate about game leaks. The Quarry is out soon and PlayStation LifeStyle has reviewed the game ahead of its launch.
