EA Responds to Skate 4 Leaks, Claims They’re From an Earlier Build

Publisher Electronic Arts has issued a statement addressing the recent Skate 4 leaks, urging fans not to download files from “unknown sources” and reminding them of the consequences of breaking its terms of service. For the uninitiated, a cracked version of Skate 4’s early build leaked online, with the leaker granting everyone access to the files for download. EA ended up identifying the leaker from their Reddit username and revoked their access to all EA games for violating terms of service.

EA stated its statement by thanking fans for their “incredible reaction” to the video above and said that it appreciates all the feedback that has been sent developer Full Circle’s way thus far. It then added:

We’ve also been blown away by the amount of you that have signed-up for playtesting and we can’t wait to get you into the game! We’re aware of an earlier version of the game that has been distributed without our authorization. This build is from September 2021 and was never intended for external use. While we understand you’re excited to get into the game, we encourage you to be careful when downloading files from unknown sources (and remind you of the potential consequences of breaking EA’s Terms of Service). The best way to get the chance to play is by signing up for skate. insider playtesting here as we continue to invite more and more players into the game throughout the year.

EA has promised more information on Skate 4 this Thursday (that’s tomorrow), July 14th, in The Board Room. The game’s release date has yet to be announced.
