New God of War Ragnarok Trailer Recaps the Story So Far

A new God of War Ragnarok trailer has been posted to the official PlayStation YouTube channel. Entitled “Myths of Midgard,” it acts as a recap of the story so far. For those who haven’t played the God of War reboot on PS4 or PS5, this video could act as a nice 7-minute catch-up ahead of the soon-to-launch sequel.

Featuring Felicia Day and Alastair Neil Duncan (the voice of Mimir), the new God of War Ragnarok trailer acts as an “animated playbook recounting the events of God of War (2018).” The video’s main aim is to “catch [players] up on the previous game.”

In addition to the fancy set that Felicia Day maneuvres around while telling the story of Kratos and Atreus, the storybook itself features some interesting artwork showcasing key scenes from the first game.

One YouTube commenter, Alex G Hernandez Lopez, is receiving upvotes for their comment saying, “For anyone who hasn’t played the game yet. This is literally it in 7 minutes.” With an average time to beat of over 20 hours (via HLTB), seven minutes spent watching this recap seems like great value.

Of course, for those who can spare 20 hours before the Ragnarok release date of November 9, getting stuck in with the 2018 reboot wouldn’t be such a terrible idea. There’s only so much that a short recap can do and it’s not just the story that God of War games do so well, as there’s the incredible combat, too!

Whether you simply watch the official 7-minute recap above or opt for the longer route of playing through the first game, now there’s no excuse for not being up to date with the story when Ragnarok releases.

In other PlayStation news, Microsoft has seemingly admitted that PS4 sold more than twice as much as Xbox One. Spider-Man Remastered PC files contain references to co-op and PvP modes. PS Plus Premium users are upset over the lack of support.
