It’s time for yet another games industry event, with Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live kicking off today. The main event takes place from Wednesday, August 24 to Sunday, August 28. Today’s show sets the stage for what’s to come. Opening Night Live will be hosted by none other than Geoff Keighley, and we’ve been told that there will be a total of 30+ games packed into a two-hour show. Some of the games scheduled to make an appearance have already been announced or leaked but other surprises are tightly under wraps. So tune in and come watch the show with us.
How and when to watch Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live
The event takes place at 11:00 AM PT, 1:00 PM CDT, 2:00 PM ET, and 7:00 PM BST (click here for other time zones). Simply stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle and catch the livestream below.
The following games are confirmed to make an appearance:
- The Callisto Protocol
- The Expanse: A Telltale Games Series
- Genshin Impact
- Goat Simulator 3
- Gotham Knights
- High On Life
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Honkai: Star Rail
- Lies of P
- The Outlast Trials
- Return to Monkey Island
- Sonic Frontiers
As far as leaks are concerned, earlier this morning, Sega accidentally revealed Sonic Frontiers’ release date. For some reason, the publisher has decided to launch the game a day before God of War Ragnarok in an apparent death wish. We’ve also heard rumors that Dead Island 2 will be revealed today (or sometime this week), and Quantic Dream is set to reveal a new game.
Numerous publishers and game companies are making an appearance at Gamescom 2022. Unfortunately, Sony is skipping both Opening Night Live and Gamescom 2022 in favor of doing its own thing. Given the company’s recent history, it doesn’t look like Sony will be participating in industry events going forward.
If you can’t watch the livestream above or miss parts of it then don’t worry as we’ll be recapping the highlights for our readers.
