What Remains of Edith Finch PS5 Upgrade

What Remains of Edith Finch PS5 Upgrade Now Available for PS Plus Members

When What Remains of Edith Finch got a free PS5 upgrade back in July, those who had redeemed the PS4 version of the game through PS Plus Essential found they were uneligible to upgrade their game. Just over a month later, this situation seems to have been fixed as PS Plus members can now get their free upgrade.

How PS Plus members can get the free PS5 upgrade

The PS5 version of What Remains of Edith Finch can be redeemed from the PlayStation Store by PS Plus members right now. According to Wario64 on Twitter, players need to search for the game’s PlayStation Store page on a PS5 console. After switching to the PS5/PS4 version, they’ll find two “Game” options in the drop-down menu. The second of these is the option those who downloaded the game through PS Plus Essential need to choose to be able to claim the free PS5 edition, which offers up to 4K resolution and 60fps.

This isn’t the first time PS Plus members have not been able to make use of free PS5 upgrades, although there are rare occasions like this one where things are eventually made right for those players. Another occasion was when PS4 players who downloaded Final Fantasy VII Remake were initially ineligible for the free PS5 upgrade to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. While this was initially an intentional decision by Square Enix, this was later reversed and PS Plus Essential members could get the upgrade six months after its initial release.

In other news, many The Last of Us Part 1 Firefly Editions have been arriving damaged after they were crushed, water-damaged, and even stuck to the packaging. Elsewhere, Splitgate will not be getting any further major updates as the developer moves onto a new game set in the same universe that won’t be released until 2024 at the earliest.
