The Witcher 4 Is the First of Multiple New Witcher Games

The Witcher 4 is set to be the first game in a brand new saga for CD Projekt Red which will contain multiple new games, the developer has confirmed. This means that the next entry in the franchise will kick off its own series, similar to Geralt’s story in the initial three games.

CD Projekt Red “thinking about more than one” The Witcher game

The announcement was made during a financial report, with CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński confirming the studio’s plans for the upcoming game.

“We said that there will be a new saga,” CDPR’s Kiciński said (via GamesRadar). “Of course, now we are pre-producing the first game of this saga. But we have in mind more than one. The first saga was three games, so now we’re thinking about more than one game. But we are in pre-production on the first game from the second Witcher saga.”

The report was uploaded as an audio webcast, which can be listened to below:

The Witcher 4 has yet to receive an official title, meaning that it may not be a numbered entry in the franchise. If it’s set to be a brand new saga, then it’s likely it won’t be The Witcher 4 and will instead carry its own distinctive name, to separate it from Geralt’s story.

CD Projekt Red has been busy this week, also revealing the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion and releasing a new patch for the game.

In other news, PlayStation’s Jim Ryan slammed Xbox over its planned deal with Call of Duty. Also, a new PS5 update was released.
