The American horror anthology TV series, Creepshow, is getting a video game courtesy of a partnership between AMC Networks, DreadXP, and DarkStone Digital. The game will also take the form of a horror anthology and each of the independent games will be made by a different developer.
All we know about the Creepshow video game
The Creepshow horror anthology game will include “several self-contained horror games across different types of gameplay genres and tones” according to Variety. If this sounds a bit like The Dark Pictures Anthology then you’re along the right lines, only Creepshow’s games will each be created by a different developer. One of those developers is DarkStone Digital, known for horror games like Our Secret Below, Kohate, and The Mortuary Assistant on PC. DarkStone Digital developer Brian Clarke will also be the creative director overseeing the entire project. AMC VP of games Clayton Neuman said:
Shudder’s ‘Creepshow’ is in a class all its own — a genre-bending mashup of spine-tingling horror and rib-tickling satire that not just any game publisher could successfully bring to life. But after playing the Dread X Collection game anthologies, and seeing Brian’s twisted genius at work in ‘The Mortuary Assistant,’ we knew we had found the right partners for this project. This game will surprise, delight and terrify ‘Creepshow’ and horror fans alike, and we can’t wait for players to get their hands on it.
More developers will be announced at a later date but we have a little while to wait before we can get our hands on the game. Creepshow will be coming to multiple platforms in 2024.
In other news, the God of War Ragnarok preload date has been leaked by the PlayStation Store. In other news, one of Sony’s “prized” IPs will be getting a cross-platform AAA live-service game from Jetpack Interactive.
