Sega’s Creative Assembly Responds to ‘Serious Allegations’ of Sexual Harassment

Creative Assembly, the developer behind the Total War series and Alien: Isolation, has released a statement regarding what it has deemed “deeply concerning and serious allegations” about one of its former employees.

Over the past several days, multiple people on Twitter claim that Baj Singh, the Project Art Director for Total War: Warhammer and currently a freelance art director, is the culprit of various instances of sexual abuse and harassment. One Twitter user named @McSammi, who worked previously at the developer, believes that it’s “not just him that needs to take responsibility,” claiming that Baj was “reported a lot” and that he “used to joke about it publicly in the office.”

Creative Assembly investigation launched through “an external party”

The full statement from Creative Assembly on its official Twitter account reads:

We have been made aware of deeply concerning and serious allegations regarding a former CA employee.

We recognise how important, and often difficult, it is for individuals to speak up about these experiences – and we welcome those who feel able to do so.

We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment for our people, and ensuring they are heard.

It is clear we need to do better.

We are investigation this matter through an external party to fully understand what happened.

The developer encourages former CA employees to share their experiences in support of their investigation by reaching out to a specific email at the studio for whistle-blowing. More than several game developers in the last two years have had to face allegations of sexual harassment as well, including Activision BlizzardRiot Games, and Paradox Interactive.
