God of War Ragnarok update 2.04 has finally fixed the game’s annoying difficulty bug that players have been complaining about since launch. The patch, which went live nice and early this morning, is available on both the PS4 and PS5, and also fixes a crashing issue that some players encountered while in the weapons menu.
God of War Ragnarok update 2.04 patch notes and details
The difficulty bug was encountered by players who attempted to lower the difficulty after having selected a higher challenge to start with. However, the change would not register, leaving players stuck with their current difficulty level. This caused some players to hold off on continuing the game while others tried various workarounds, which didn’t guarantee any success.
The patch notes are brief and as follows:
General
- Fixed a case where some players were unable to change the difficulty level in-game.
Stability and Performance
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur in the weapons menu.
Speaking of difficulty, a number of players have said that they feel there’s little difference between God of War Ragnarok’s Give Me Grace and Balance difficulties. Give Me Grace is a new addition to the game and is supposed to be more forgiving than Balance Mode. It remains to be seen if Santa Monica Studio will tweak the challenge or not.
