PS Plus Essential January 2023 games line-up is now going live worldwide. This month, the three games included in PS Plus’ most basic tier are: Fallout 76, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Axiom Verge 2. Unlike PS Plus Extra and Premium, these games are yours to keep provided your membership remains active.
Why can’t I redeem PS Plus Essential January 2023 games?
Sony staggers the rollout of its PS Plus games line-up so if you don’t see the games live despite this article, fret not, they’ll become available to you within the day. At the time of this writing, the games are already available to users in Asia and Europe. Those in North and South America might not be able to redeem them just yet.
As a reminder, if you redeem any of the PS Plus Essential games, make sure not to redeem them again via PS Plus Extra or Premium, should they be included in those tiers as well. Doing so overrides the Essential games license, locking players out of the games for good once the Extra and Premium catalogs expire. Unfortunately, this issue persists despite being reported numerous times, and Sony has yet to release an official fix or a statement on the matter.
