The Last of Us HBO Microsoft Activision Deal

The Last of Us HBO Success Justifies Microsoft Activision Deal, Says ActiBlizz Boss

Activision Blizzard executive Lulu Cheng Meservey has bizarrely claimed that The Last of Us HBO TV show‘s success further justifies Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard. Cheng, who is no stranger to bizarre statements, says that Microsoft needs Activision to compete because PlayStation has “an unrivaled war chest of IP.”

Activision urges FTC to take note of The Last of Us HBO show

In a series of tweets, Meservey praised The Last of Us TV series and urged U.S. regulator Federal Trade Commission to watch the show. FTC recently sued to block the Microsoft Activision deal.

According to Meservey, the HBO show’s overwhelming success is proof that Microsoft’s purchase of Activision won’t harm Sony.

“In gaming, Sony is ‘the first of us’ and they will be just fine without the FTC’s protection,” Meservey concluded.

Meservey’s tweets drew criticism from a number of followers, who pointed out that Sony helped create The Last of Us.
