The Final Fantasy Tactics remake rumors have been fueled again following comments in a recent interview. When Theatrhythm Final Bar Line producer Ichiro Hazama was asked why the game includes few characters from the Tactics franchise, he replied the Tactics team was too busy to talk to them about it.
The Final Fantasy Tactics team is “heavily involved in another project”
Despite many FF Tactics developers being moved on to Final Fantasy XIV in recent years, it seems like the team has now been reassembled. Hazama told Finaland (thanks ResetEra) that “the Tactics team is incredibly busy at the moment, they have other things to do. They are heavily involved in another project at the moment.” Many are hoping this project is the Final Fantasy Tactics remake, which was first revealed amongst the 18,000 games included in the Nvidia database leak and has since been subject to many rumors. Others are hoping for a brand new title in the Tactics universe.
Of course, there is the possibility that the team is involved in a completely different project within Square Enix. Final Fantasy XIV continues to receive content updates (although there won’t be a major expansion this year), so the “team” could be continuing to work on that game. Regardless, take the rumor with a pinch of salt for now.
