The Witcher 3 PS5 nudity mod story has taken another odd turn. The creator of the mod, which adds ultra realistic body parts on female characters, has said that CD Projekt RED used their work without permission.
The Witcher 3 PS5 nudity mod is being removed via an update
In a message to Kotaku, the Nexus Mods user said that they weren’t even aware that CD Projekt RED used their mod until now, which means they weren’t compensated like other modders.
When announcing The Witcher 3’s next-gen version, the studio said that it planned to use community mods with permission from their creators, who were all compensated and featured in the game’s credits. As noted by Kotaku, the official list of mods used doesn’t contain the nudity mod in question, which adds realistic vulvas and pubic hair to female characters.
For its part, CD Projekt RED has said that the inclusion of the mod was “unintended” and that it’ll be removed from the game via an incoming update. It’s unclear how much effort this will take and when the update will release.
CD Projekt RED hasn’t responded to the Nexus Mods user’s allegation so it remains to be seen if they’ll be compensated or not.
