A hidden PSVR 2 setting improves tracking accuracy for those who dive into the system settings to find it. Named “Tracking Support,” the disabled-by-default option helps to fix poor tracking.
PSVR 2 “Tracking Support” option improves accuracy
The PSVR 2 Tracking Support option adds a frame around the TV screen which makes it easier for the VR headset to recognize.
As highlighted by YouTube creator Octorious, the setting is buried in the Accessories > PlayStation VR2 > Other menu, so players really have to go hunting to find it.
Once enabled, a black border covers the edges of the TV screen. It has lines and PlayStation shape symbols. While the thick borders could be offputting to anyone watching the TV screen, there doesn’t appear to be any other downsides.
For those who are playing PSVR 2 without an audience, enabling Tracking Support seems like a no-brainer as, even if you haven’t experienced any tracking issues so far, the added assistance could save the day in multiplayer matches or tougher single-player levels.
PC users have tried plugging the PSVR 2 into a computer and the results were surprising.
