Bungie has taken the Destiny 2 servers down in readiness for update 7.0.0.1 and the release of the Lightfall expansion tomorrow. The servers are down now and will not be back online until Lightfall is released, but the good news is that update 7.0.0.1 and its patch notes have been released ahead of time.
What time will the Destiny 2 servers be back online?
Destiny 2 Lightfall will be released at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on February 28 and this is when the servers will be brought back online. However, update 7.0.0.1 is available for download right now but will take up 102.5 GB on PS5. PS4 players will need 184.84 GB of free space for the update’s preload, although this will be reduced to 88.21 GB when it goes live tomorrow.
The update 7.0.0.1. patch notes go into all of the new gameplay features that will be added tomorrow, as well as the bug fixes. These include the new Guardian Ranks progression system and Seasonal Engrams, changes in difficulty to several game modes like Vanguard Ops, and an updated currency system. There are also changes made to make room for new Lightfall additions such as the new Strand subclass. Unfortunately, other much-anticipated features like LFG matchmaking won’t be arriving until later in the year.
