The recent GTA 6 50 Cent “tease” actually had nothing to do with the game, it turns out. Fans have been left disappointed after finding out that the rapper was teasing a television show.
The curious case of GTA 6, 50 Cent, and Vice City
50 Cent posted a tease or two for something called “Vice City” – the rumored setting for GTA 6. The image that he used in one of his Instagram posts was lifted straight from GTA: Vice City, which fans thought was a clue. The rapper later deleted his posts, leading fans to believe he may have violated a non-disclosure agreement with Rockstar Games. Not quite.
According to Deadline, Paramount+ is making a new original Lionsgate Television series with a working title of Vice City, so it may not end up being called that altogether. Interestingly, however, the premise shared by Deadline seems to suggest that 50 Cent’s show is indeed inspired by Grand Theft Auto.
Vice City will feature the story of three friends in 1980s Miami, who have been dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran contra scandal. Disgraced and shunned by the society, the trio team up with a Colombian immigrant to form a criminal empire. And yes, there will be heists.
