EA Sports PGA Tour Capped at 30 FPS on PS5, No Performance Mode Available

Despite leaving last-gen consoles behind and focusing entirely on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, EA Sports PGA Tour is capped at 30 FPS on the current-gen systems. While the consoles get a not-so-smooth frame rate, PC players will still get 60 FPS and above.

EA Sports PGA Tour 60 FPS mode not available on PS5

EA Sports PGA Tour’s updated F.A.Q. page details the frame rate caps for the various versions of the game. While PC players will enjoy “30 FPS, 60 FPS, or unlocked frame rate,” those on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will only be able to play at 30 FPS. There is no 60 FPS performance mode for consoles.

The 30 FPS cap may come as a shock to current-gen players who have gotten used to 60 FPS (and beyond) being an option for most games. Going back to 30 FPS, especially for a sports game, could be jarring. Hopefully the impact is minimal and not too noticeable.

EA Sports PGA Tour is currently available for those who bought the Deluxe Edition or have an EA Play Pro subscription. It is set to fully launch on April 7, following a significant delay.

Another big April release is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Here’s how much space you’ll need to clear on your system for its massive install size.
