Insomniac Games creative director Bryan Intihar has teased that if Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 was to land on the PS5, it would be “pretty epic.” Considering the success of the first two games, Spider-Man 3 is almost a given.
Insomniac’s comment on a potential Spider-Man 3 PS5 game
Intihar made his comment during a video interview with YouTube channel Skill Up, a snippet of which has been making rounds on Twitter. In the brief segment, Intihar is asked where the series would go from Spider-Man 2 if there were to be a third installment. Intihar understandably remained coy in his response.
“I think… if Spider-Man 1 and Miles [Morales] were like our Iron Man and Spider-Man 2 was our Civil War, where do we logically go from there?” Intihar said, choosing his words carefully. “I think it’d be pretty epic, but, you know, we’ll see.”
Spider-Man 2 has had a stellar launch both critically and commercially. It’s currently one of Insomniac Games’ highest-rated titles and sold 2.5 million copies within 24 hours, making it PlayStation Studios’ best launch to date — a record previously held by last year’s God of War Ragnarok. Both Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales were also a commercial success.
