Sony seems to have a system in place to revoke PS Stars points from players who earned some coin for buying or pre-ordering a game, then refunded it. PS Store doesn’t really have a refund policy like Steam, but does issue refunds on a case-by-base basis. Recently, Concord players were issued automatic refunds when Sony decided to shut the game down.
Sony revoked PS Stars points from players who earned them from Concord campaigns
Sony ran at least two Concord PS Stars campaigns (may vary by region) that specifically awarded points: one for pre-ordering the game, and one for purchasing it post-launch. Each of the campaigns awarded players 100 points (you could only complete one or the other).
When Sony announced that it’ll issue refunds for Concord, it not only removed the game’s PS Stars campaigns, but it also revoked any points players earned for completing associated campaigns.
As for Concord campaigns that awarded digital collectibles, although the campaigns were pulled, players have reported that they got to keep their ultra rare collectibles.
This is an interesting discovery because as far as we’re aware, there hasn’t been a case of Sony revoking points thus far. Not that Sony is keen to issue refunds, but just a heads up, if you claim a refund, any points-based campaign associated with the game will also be canceled.
