Resident Evil 0, Code Veronica Remakes Not as ‘Ambitious’ as RE4 – Report

A known Capcom leaker has asked fans to keep their expectations in check for Resident Evil 0 and Code Veronica remakes. The remakes, which have been rumored for a while, reportedly won’t be as “ambitious” as 2023’s Resident Evil 4, which earned unanimous praise from players and critics alike.

Capcom has yet to announce Resident Evil 0 and Code Veronica remakes

The aforementioned report comes from none other than DuskGolem, who first leaked the existence of both RE0 and Code Veronica remakes. His report was later corroborated by IGN, whose sources confirmed that both remakes are in development.

Over on Discord, DuskGolem said that RE4’s remake was a “crown jewel” of sorts for Capcom, and the two upcoming projects aren’t going to be on the same level as RE4 in terms of scale and scope.

“Capcom don’t really plan for there to be a remake as ‘ambitious’ as RE4,” DuskGolem wrote. “In many ways, that was the crown jewel of remakes and the most challenging one to tackle in scale, scope, expectation.”

This doesn’t mean that Capcom won’t be putting out high quality remakes, but players should probably manage their expectations.

DuskGolem is a fairly reliable leaker when it comes to Capcom projects, but as always, take this with a grain of salt.
