Following yesterday’s surprise announcement of Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Yotei, an insider has suggested that there are more unannounced PS5 exclusives coming in 2025. While there’s currently no indication that the games will be from first-party devs, many PlayStation Studios have been quietly working behind the scenes for a number of years now, so it’s possible that we’ll see something from one of Sony’s beloved teams.
Which major PS5 exclusives are confirmed for 2025 thus far?
The latest tease comes from ResetEra’s Shinobi602, who was one of the first ones to hint at a surprise release in 2025, which turned out to be Ghost of Yotei. In an exchange on the forum, Shinobi602 posted a gif suggesting that there’s more to come. Previously, another known insider NateTheHate hinted the same, teasing that 2025 might be PS5’s “best year” in terms of content.
So far, Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, and Marathon are all currently confirmed for release in 2025. We know Insomniac Games has been busy working on multiple projects including Marvel’s Wolverine, and Bend Studio has been developing a new IP. Additionally, Bluepoint Games has been working on a mystery not-Bloodborne project. Then, there’s Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studio’s new IP.
Fans are now speculating that we’ll get an announcement at The Game Awards 2024, which will take place in December.
