Players have discovered that Sony generously grants PS Stars points for making purchases from PS3 and PS Vita stores… or whatever’s left of them. It’s something that many (myself included) weren’t aware of, primarily because both stores have been gutted and aren’t being used much. But it’s still nice to know that Sony hasn’t totally forgotten about them.
PS Stars members assumed only PS5, PS4 stores were eligible for points
Given that Sony has long forgotten both the PS3 and Vita (except when it rolls out security patches to try and curb hacking), players assumed that only purchases made from PS Store on the web or PS5 and PS4 console stores were eligible to earn points.
A Reddit user recently shared a screenshot of them earning 159 points for purchasing Tokyo Jungle from the PS3 store, which not only surprised them but also other members. In response, some users noted that they had received points for purchasing from the Vita store as well.
While this isn’t a huge deal, it’s still a nice little surprise since Sony doesn’t exactly advertise its outdated storefronts.
