LittleBigPlanet 3 PS Plus

PS Plus Users May Lose LittleBigPlanet 3 Forever If They Make This Mistake

Following the announcement that LittleBigPlanet 3 is being pulled from sale, we expect a large number of PS Plus Extra and Premium users to play the game, especially since it’s being removed from the catalog next week. However, you’ll want to first check if you claimed the game back in February 2017 via the PS Plus monthly lineup before you hit that download button.

How some PS Plus users may lock themselves out of LittleBigPlanet 3 forever

Our regular readers will know that we’ve been sounding the alarm about PS Plus licensing issues ever since the service was revamped.

Long story short, players who download games from Extra/Premium catalog risk overriding previous licenses. This means that if players previously claimed a game from the monthly catalog and then unknowingly override the license by downloading the same game through the Extra/Premium catalog, they’ll end up locking themselves out of the title for good once it leaves the service.

Only monthly games are yours to keep, so if you lose that license, you’ll need us to wish you luck contacting PS Support. Sony has failed to rectify this issue, so make sure to check your library to first confirm if you claimed LittleBigPlanet 3 in February 2017 or not. If you did, download that version instead of what’s in your catalog right now.

While we’re here, some of the game’s DLC is available for free via the PS Store. Grab that, too.
