Today, PS Plus Premium subscribers are treated with a PS2 horror classic. 2003’s Siren is now available for PS5, and PS4 thanks to the console’s new emulator. Trophy hunters will be pleased to hear both console versions include trophies.
PS Plus Premium classic horror game Siren has PS4 and PS5 trophies
The Siren re-release for PS4 and PS5 usher in a new set of trophies for PlayStation players to earn. If that wasn’t enough to get players excited, the coveted platinum trophy is now available for the game, which was not the case for its original port.
The original Siren PS4 port included 12 total trophies (1 gold, 4 silver, 7 bronze). According to the PlayStation Trophies guide, it would take around 16 to 20 hours to grab every trophy. The new PS4 and PS5 version includes 23 trophies (1 platinum, 8 gold, 8 silver, 6 bronze). Although there are more trophies, it does seem the lists are fairly similar. At least trophy hunters will earn a platinum this time around for their 20 or so hours of gameplay.
Earlier this month, it was revealed Siren would get another re-release using Sony’s improved PS2 emulator. This new version includes rewind, quick save, and custom video features, and upscaled rendering in addition to the new trophies. PS5 players who previously bought the horror game for PS4 will receive the new version for free.
Siren isn’t the only classic horror game available for PS Plus Premium subscribers. The PS1 cult classic Dino Crisis is also available today. However, unlike Siren, it is locked behind the subscription service, and does not include trophies.
PS Plus Premium subscribers who don’t want to play old horror games, but are still in the mood for something spooky are in luck. The newest additions to the subscription’s Game Catalog include some modern horror games to enjoy like Dead Island 2, The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.
