The Lake House will unlock for current Deluxe Edition holders at the specified time. Players who do not currently own the Deluxe Edition can upgrade for $20 on the PSN Store. Any who doesn’t own Alan Wake 2 can grab the game, and its two expansions for $79.99. Purchasing or upgrading to the Deluxe Edition will garner players both the Night Springs and The Lake House expansions.

Additionally, Remedy announced an update will come alongside the upcoming Alan Wake 2 DLC bringing quality of life improvements. Nothing specific was announced, but they assure players that they’ll reveal more about it “soon.”

The latest The Lake House trailer (see above) revealed quite a bit about the Alan Wake 2 DLC. Players will control FBC Agent Estevez as they explore a research station in Cauldron Lake. Unlike the episodic, and somewhat goofy nature of the Night Springs DLC, The Lake House will be more similar to the base game in tone. Also, it will further explore the Remedy Connected Universe, which can be seen with the trailer’s stinger at the end.

“Much like some of the larger missions inside the main game of Alan Wake 2, this mission is structured like a more traditional survival horror game,” says Rowley in a recent post on Xbox Wire. “There is a large open structure for the player to explore, secrets to discover and dangerous enemies to try and survive against. Narrative obviously plays a large role in the expansion – as it did in the main game – so it is definitely worth exploring and trying to locate the many narrative objects scattered throughout the environment.”

The Lake House was not the only piece of content Remedy had to share during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase. The Control spinoff FBC: Firebreak was announced with a new trailer. It will launch on PS Plus Extra and Premium in 2025.
