Rumor has it that Sony is gearing up to showcase Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 gameplay, possibly as soon as early December, when The Game Awards 2024 is scheduled to take place. You’ll be forgiven for thinking we’ve already seen much of the game because alpha footage has been making rounds ever since Insomniac Games suffered a massive ransomware attack last year. However, this time we’ll get to see proper, official footage.
When is Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 gameplay expected to be shown off?
This rumor comes to us from known leaker Kurakasis, who has a solid track record thus far. They claim to have unearthed information that suggests Sony is preparing to show off Wolverine soon, and speculated that we might see something at TGA 2024 — arguably the biggest video game event of the year.
However, Sony has recently been sticking to its own digital events as well as the PS Blog, so while we may see Wolverine soon, it might not necessarily be at an industry event. That said, given the popularity of the IP as well as TGA’s massive audience, it would make more sense for Sony to showcase a major blockbuster at TGA.
Take this rumor with a grain of salt but we won’t be surprised if it’s true. Insomniac Games has been working on Wolverine for quite a while now, and has previously said that it’s firing on all cylinders when it comes to the game’s development.
There have been rumblings of a 2025 release, so the timing checks out. Stay tuned.
