Shift Up has said that it expects Stellar Blade sales on PC to exceed PS5 sales. As previously announced, the game is headed to Steam, possibly within the next year. Shift Up cites Steam’s expanding market share as well as the recent success of Black Myth: Wukong as reasons why it believes Stellar Blade will perform better on PC.
Stellar Blade sales on PS5 remain stable, says Shift Up
To be clear, Shift Up is happy with Stellar Blade’s performance on the PS5. While announcing its third quarter results, the studio said that the game continues to remain popular on console and its sales remain stable.
“With the addition of the Nier: Automata DLC and ongoing marketing activities, we plan to maintain the IP’s popularity until the platform expansion,” Shift Up said. “Considering recent trends such as Steam’s expanding market share in the AAA game sector and the global success of Black Myth: Wukong, we expect the performance on PC to exceed that on console.”
Shift Up has previously said that Stellar Blade has been a commercially successful endeavor. The game’s performance resulted in the company making a strong debut in South Korea’s stock market, with its initial public offering being the second biggest of 2024 in the country.
