- We’ve improved the process of transferring data from another PS5 and enhanced stability when transferring large amounts of data, such as captures.

For those who missed it, PS5 received a system feature update yesterday to celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary, which adds PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 inspired themes and sounds alongside a PS1 boot sequence and a “thank you” screen when powering off the console. Unfortunately, the themes are only available for a limited time, prompting players to petition Sony to make them a permanent feature.
Speaking of themes, the PS5’s Welcome Hub has also received a new animated background to mark the 30th anniversary. It’s a nice throwback to older consoles including the PS3 and PS2. It’s unclear if this background is also a limited-time addition or not.
