PSN still isn’t tracking PS5, PS4 hours played correctly, it turns out. The issue was once again exposed by PlayStation Wrap-Up 2024 as a large number of players reported that their stats are wildly inaccurate, and in some unique cases, just plain wrong as PSN claimed that they played games they didn’t even own.
PSN hasn’t been tracking PS5, PS4 users’ hours played correctly for years
We’ve covered this issue numerous times in the past, but yesterday, I had mentioned in an article that the gameplay counter may have finally been fixed as my PlayStation Wrap-Up was accurate, for a change. I was wrong, apparently.
A Reddit thread dedicated to the Wrap-Up had some folks sharing bizarre — and frankly, funny — inaccuracies. For example, this player barely touched Elden Ring but was told that they spent 300 hours playing it with no trophies to even show for it. In the same post, another user shared that their stats mentioned they had played Far Cry 6 and even unlocked a trophy in the game even though they’ve never played it.
Separately, a player noted that their stats mentioned that they had played 50+ games in a single month, while another was told they played 88 games in the same time span.
