Collaborations are now a regular thing in video games, especially for live service games. However, Arrowhead Studios did not want to do a Helldivers 2 crossover unless it made “perfect sense.” It seems they found their match as a long-dormant beloved PlayStation franchise is getting revived for democracy.
Helldivers 2 x Killzone collaboration begins today
Arrowhead Studios announced its collaboration with the PlayStation first-person shooter franchise Killzone. The Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 crossover is part of a new tier of Premium content made for collabs and other “uniquely-themed items.” Additionally, players can earn another Killzone 2 reward by continuing to fight in the Galactic War.
“We decided a long time ago to do crossovers only if and when they make perfect sense for the game,” says Arrowhead Studios. “So in that spirit, we’re hyped to announce our very first crossover: Killzone 2.”
The first batch of Killzone-themed items are available now on the Helldivers 2 Superstore. These items include an armor set (AC-1 Dutiful), helmet (AC-1 Dutiful), primary weapon (StA-52 Assault Rifle), player banner (Strength in our Arms), Cape (Strength in our Arms), and player title (Assault Infantry). Here is the full list of items, and how many Super Credits they each cost:
- AC-1 Dutiful Armor Set – 500 Super Credits
- AC-1 Dutiful Helmet – 310 Super Credits
- Strength in our Arms Cape – 310 Super Credits
- StA-52 Assault Rifle – 615 Super Credits
- Strength in our Arms Player Banner – 90 Super Credits
- Assault Infantry Player Title – 150 Super Credits
Grabbing every item will cost 1,975 Super Credits. This currency is earnable by playing Helldivers, albeit fairly slowly. Anyone who wants to grab the items immediately will have to spend $20 to get 2,100 Super Credits. It should be noted this is actually more than its Warbond battle pass, which includes much more items for just $10.
This is just the first part of the Helldivers 2 x Killzone crossover. The second part will come to the Superstore on December 23, 2024. Prices for these upcoming items have yet to be announced, but if it’s the similar amount and type of items as this first part, it may be safe to assume it will be another $20.
