Capcom has confirmed that its highly-anticipated upcoming action RPG will be PS5 Pro enhanced at launch. Out on February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will receive a day-one patch with the enhancements, but Capcom didn’t provide any further details. However, it did share console graphics and resolution targets.
Monster Hunter Wilds joins an ever-growing list of PS5 Pro enhanced games
In a pre-launch community update, Capcom said that the standard PS5 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will feature ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate’ modes. The former’s output/rendering resolutions will be 3840 x 2160 / 3072 x 1728 at 30 fps, whereas the latter will offer 3840 x 2160 / 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps.
Over on X, Capcom said that it has “addressed rendering issues from the Open Beta Test and is making steady improvements for launch.”
Monster Hunter Wilds’ open beta raised some concerns about the game’s performance. However, it was the PC version’s issues that were particularly egregious.
Previously, Capcom struggled to fix the PS5 performance of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Unfortunately, the game’s PS5 Pro patch wasn’t exactly stellar either. It’s certainly a relief that Monster Hunter Wilds’ PS5 Pro patch is being worked on prior to launch as it allows developers ample time to address issues.
