Square Enix revealed Kingdom Hearts IV over two years ago as part of its 20th anniversary celebration. Since then, details on the next iteration has been sparse. Well, it seems more information on Sora’s next adventure will reportedly be revealed in just a few months.
Square Enix could reportedly reveal Kingdom Hearts 4 as early as February 2025
The latest rumor comes from a recent video from The Gamers Joint in which the host states Square Enix is planning its own showcase with the first happening in February. They predict the announcement for the event would occur early February. They also state this rumored showcase was the reasoning behind Square Enix’s lack of big reveals at The Game Awards.
Additionally, he states they feel “confident” a re-reveal of Kingdom Hearts IV will happen by the end of 2025. In turn, this would give us an idea of where in development the game currently is, and hopefully a release date. They also predict that when Square Enix decides to showcase this next entry, it would be a year out from its scheduled release date.
Square Enix’s future release slate is pretty barren right now. Aside from Kingdom Hearts 4, the only big known quantities are Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate. The remake is currently schedules for a broad 2025 release, while the next Dragon Quest entry has yet to receive even release year window.
Combining a bit of the information from The Gamers Joint, a reveal for Kingdom Hearts 4 could come as soon as February 2025 in the reported Square Enix showcase.
Like all rumors, take this information with a grain of salt. The Gamers Joint doesn’t really have a track record with leaks. However, with the current lack of known 2025 releases, it wouldn’t really be surprising if Square Enix were holding all its big reveals for its own event. Like any rumor or leak, we’ll just have to wait and see if it comes to fruition.
