GSC Game World has confirmed that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl PS5 version isn’t currently planned despite a three-month Xbox exclusivity period. The survival horror shooter released on Xbox Series X|S and PC in November, but PS5 fans hoping for a release in the first half of 2025 should keep their expectations in check.
STALKER 2 technical issues may have set its PS5 release back
Folks over at Tech4Gamers quizzed GSC Game World director Ievgen Grygorovych about STALKER 2’s PS5 release, to which he said that the developer is “fully focused on developing (and now supporting) the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions.”
When the website pressed further and asked if a PS5 Pro enhanced STALKER 2 could be expected anytime after the Xbox exclusivity period is up, Grygorovych reiterated his previous response and refused to comment on potential PS5 Pro support.
“We do not comment on leaks, rumors, or speculations,” Grygorovych added. “Again, the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions of STALKER 2 are the only ones we have developed and are supporting.”
STALKER 2 received a mixed reception upon release, owing in large part to its plethora of technical issues. GSC Game World faced numerous struggles during the game’s development stemming from the ongoing war in Ukraine.
