In case you missed it, the first PS5 console exclusive of 2025 is out now, and you don’t need a PS Plus subscription to play it. As announced during The Game Awards last month, open world action RPG Wuthering Waves is available now, and it’s free to play for all players.

As we’ve come to expect from gacha games now, Wuthering Waves has already climbed to the top of PS5’s most-played games within a few days. Inspired by Death Stranding, the game is already available on PC and mobile devices. Once again, there’s no word on an Xbox Series X|S version.
Insiders have said that Sony is set to have a solid 2025 in terms of exclusives — both third-party and first-party. Rumor has it that Guerrilla Games’ Horizon multiplayer experience is among 2025’s unannounced first-party exclusives, and might be out in the first half of the year.
Last November, Sony pledged to release major single-player games every year alongside pursuing live service ambitions. “We are making steady progress in the development of new titles and in improving our live service game processes,” Sony said. “Starting with Ghost of Yotei, which is a sequel to the smash hit Ghost of Tsushima, we plan to continue releasing major single-player game titles every year from next fiscal year onwards.”
